World Refugee Day : new statistics on asylum

20 June 2015 – Two reports marked the World refugee Day, on June, 20. In its report on the world asylum global trends in 2014 “World at war”, the High Commissioner for Refugees announces that the number of persons “fleeing their homes and seeking refuge and safety elsewhere” has reached a record level in modern history: 59.9 millions of people were forcibly displaced by the end of 2014. Besides, Eurostat tells us in its report “Asylum in the EU in the first quarter 2015” that 185 000 people introduced their first asylum claim in the EU during the first three months of 2015.
