Bridges, not weapons! Press conference on 24 June
24 April – It is estimated that over 20,000 people have lost their lives along Europe’s borders over the past 20 years, with almost 2,000 of them perishing in the Mediterranean since the start of 2015. The Member States of the European Union (EU) will address the issue of these repeated tragedies at the 25-6 June European Council meeting. Therefore, the AEDH and other organisations have set up a press conference on June, 24th to present their European appeal for a migrant, asylum-seeker and refugee reception policy.

Brussels conference on the future of the ECHR: declaration of 41 NGOs active in the judicial defence of prisoners´ rights
6 February 2015 – In a joint declaration, 41 organisations including AEDH call on the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Member States at the Council of Europe for a fundamental change in the approach of endemic problems concerning European prisons. This call is made as a conference will take place on 26 and 27 March in Brussels in order to speed up the reform process whose objective is to erase all structural forms of ECHR violations that are attributable to national prison systems.
