Presentation on an inclusive citizenship for all EU citizens by Pierre Barge, the AEDH’s honorary chairman, at the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) – 04th September 2013

Pierre Barge, the AEDH’s honorary chairman, was invited to give a presentation as the co-president of the working group « An inclusive citizenship for all EU residents » within the European Year of Citizens Alliance (EYCA 2013): he gave a speech at the EESC about his working group’s position. 

 

As a guest speaker at Mr Pariza Castanos’ draft opinion, « A more inclusive citizenship open to immigrants », Pierre Barge presented the position of his working group, « An inclusive citizenship for all EU residents », within the European Year of Citizens Alliance (EYCA 2013). In his presentation, he summarised the key points on which his working group is concentrating, particularly those concerning the inclusion of vulnerable and marginalised groups within the EU and the idea of considering all people living on the territory of the EU as residents, regardless of their legal status.
