The UNHCR publishes its comments on recast "qualification" and "procedure" directives

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) published, at the end of July 2010, a paper setting out its major comments on the recast "qualification" directive (COM(2009)551, 21 October 2009) and another one on the recast "procedure" directive (COM(2009)554, 21 October 2009).

The UNHCR watched closely the proposed texts from the European Commission and published two papers in which it presents its conclusions and recommandations on the scope of the future directives as well as on some of the provisions in a detailed manner.
