The Council of the European Union approves a series of conclusions over personal data protection field: it calls for a comprehensive approach – 25 February 2011.

The European Council, taking into considerations the Communication from the Commission, confirms its involvement concerning data protection in the European Union, enhancing the need for a particular comprehensive approach.

These conclusions aim to provide new inputs in order to ameliorate data protection standards in all areas, starting with a new legal framework that could be concordant among all members States.
