Joint press release to support Doros Polycarpou, director of the cypriot organisation KISA - 29 February 2012

You will find attached the latest joint press release in support of the organisation KISA in Cyprus and its director Doros Polycarpou, entitled “Persecution of Human Rights defender Polycarpou and breach of migrants’ rights question Cyprus’ suitability to take over EU Chairmanship”.

It was initiated by the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (EMHRN), the Platform for International Cooperation on Undocumented Migrants (PICUM), the European Network Against Racism (ENAR), and Migreurop.

This press release constitutes a new step in the joint action of a number of European NGOs against the criminalisation of KISA in Cyprus and more in specific, against the criminalisation of Doros Polycarpou, KISA Executive Director, who faces criminal charges following the events at the Rainbow Festival on 5 November 2010 in Larnaca.
