Comparative report of FRA on the situation of migrants in an irregular situation in the European Union - 28 November 2011

On November 22nd 2011, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) released its comparative report on the situation of irregular migrants in the European Union, entitled “Fundamental rights of migrants in an irregular situation in the European Union”.

This report shows that access to basic rights by migrants in an irregular situation differs significantly from one Member State to the other, in law and practice. It addresses a wide range of issues: fundamental rights of non-removed persons, immigration law enforcement, workers’ rights and labour exploitation, housing, healthcare, education, family life.
